Visitors Center

Once you've made your way to Rockingham County, please visit the historic Hardesty-Higgins House Visitor Center located in downtown Harrisonburg. Harrisonburg is the county seat of Rockingham County. The Center operates 7 days a week and houses The Valley Turnpike Museum and the Harrisonburg-Rockingham Civil War Orientation Center.

Directions

From the north:

• Follow I-81 south and take exit 247-A for US-33W/E Market St toward Harrisonburg
• Turn left onto S Federal St
• Turn right onto Franklin St
• Turn right onto S Main St
• Destination will be on your right
• Parking is located behind the Hardesty-Higgins House Visitor Center

From the south:

• Follow I-81 north and take exit 245 for VA-253/Port Republic Rd
• Turn left onto Port Republic Rd
• Turn right onto S Main St
• Destination will be on your right
• Parking is located behind the Hardesty-Higgins House Visitor Center
